Alert + human-response worksheet

Document what a person should verify.

This is not a script builder. It generates no Apex syntax, setpoints, automatic action, or live alarm. Apex Fusion Tasks and programming remain inside Neptune's environment.

Response worksheet 1

Notification note: Neptune ended SMS notifications on November 5, 2025. This worksheet lists current push, email, audible, and human-checklist paths—not SMS.

Commissioning sequence

What the setup actually entails.

Use this as a preparation checklist, then follow the current instructions supplied with every exact device. Installation and programming must be commissioned and failure-tested in the Apex environment.

  1. 01

    Confirm package and electrical market

Inventory the exact included bundle and confirm this North American worksheet matches the product label and 120 V / 60 Hz service. Do not substitute an international Energy Bar.

  2. 02

    Plan dry, serviceable mounting

Keep the base, Energy Bars, power supplies, connectors, drip loops, ventilation, and service paths within current manufacturer and qualified electrical guidance. A planner cannot verify branch-circuit or GFCI protection.

  3. 03

Build and label the AquaBus network

Record AquaBus and 1LINK routes separately. AquaBus uses USB-shaped connectors but is not USB; never connect it to a computer or other USB device. Neptune limits a 1LINK run to 20 feet from source to device and says not to daisy-chain 1LINK devices.

  4. 04

    Connect network and Apex Fusion

Follow Neptune's current setup portal for Wi-Fi or Ethernet onboarding, account access, firmware, and device discovery. Reef Warden does not perform this connection.

  5. 05

    Install, calibrate, and commission probes

Follow the instructions supplied with each exact probe. Record calibration and maintenance dates; do not adopt example thresholds as aquarium-safe setpoints.

  6. 06

    Assign FMM sensor types deliberately

Confirm every FMM input's sensor type and behavior. LLS response can lag, so do not use it for immediate control such as ATO control.

  7. 07

Label outlets and verify fallback behavior

Commission one output at a time, verify the real connected load, and test restart, disconnected-controller, manual-override, and failure behavior under the current Apex documentation.

  8. 08

Create and test notifications in Apex

Use Apex Fusion Tasks or Apex programming only in Neptune's environment. Test push, email, and audible alarms with a human present; Reef Warden does not generate or deploy Apex code.

Ports available is not system safe.

This planner does not verify household branch capacity, per-outlet ratings, device voltage/frequency, wet-location installation, cable length or topology, shared 24 V loading, fail-safe behavior, firmware compatibility, or safe aquarium setpoints. Adding another Energy Bar does not create redundancy when both depend on the same circuit or controller.
