When these terms apply
These terms apply when you check the separate optional SMS box on either the Reef Warden contact form or support-ticket form and submit it. A telephone number without the applicable checked box is not consent. A submitted request remains inactive and unsendable until Reef Warden verifies control of the number and activates messaging with working opt-out controls.
Program description
After verification and activation, contact-form SMS may provide recurring automated messages only about that inquiry, requested availability, scheduling, and support. Support-ticket SMS may provide recurring automated messages only about that ticket, its status, requested follow-up, scheduling, and support.
Consent for one submission does not authorize another inquiry or ticket. Neither scope includes offers, launches, discounts, cross-sells, newsletters, promotional announcements, unrelated marketing, or safety-critical aquarium alerts.
Enrollment and consent
Enrollment requires the separate, unchecked box on the applicable form, a United States or Canadian mobile number you control, and submission of that form. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Entering a number elsewhere does not enroll it.
The web request creates an inactive, submission-specific consent record, not an active subscriber. Reef Warden will not treat the number or grant as eligible until ownership confirmation and program activation are complete. A suppressed number remains suppressed unless a separate verified reactivation process is completed.
Frequency and charges
Message frequency varies based on the program and your interactions. Message and data rates may apply. Your carrier’s terms and charges govern use of its network. Reef Warden does not impose a separate fee merely to receive its texts.
STOP and HELP
Once messaging is active, reply STOP, QUIT, END, REVOKE, OPT OUT, CANCEL, or UNSUBSCRIBE to suppress all Reef Warden automated SMS to that number. We may send one confirmation message. A new affirmative opt-in and verification are required before further messages.
Reply HELP for help or use the Reef Warden website. Before activation, use the website to withdraw a pending request because no SMS conversation has begun.
Do not use SMS for emergencies or time-critical aquarium incidents. Delivery may be delayed or fail. Directly inspect the aquarium and equipment and use appropriate emergency procedures.
Delivery and availability
Enrollment requests accept United States and Canadian numbers in the North American numbering plan. Actual delivery depends on carrier and provider support and is not guaranteed. Reef Warden may decline or suppress a number that cannot be verified, is reassigned, produces a permanent carrier failure, or is reported as a wrong number.
Eligibility and number changes
You must be at least 18 or the age of legal majority where you live and authorized to agree to these terms. If you stop using or transfer your number, opt out before giving it up. You are responsible for providing an accurate number you are authorized to use.
Privacy and program changes
SMS information is handled as described in the SMS Privacy Policy and general Privacy Policy.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue a program. Where required, we will provide notice or obtain new consent before materially changing the message categories covered by an existing opt-in.
Contact
Questions, pending-consent withdrawals, and reasonable revocation requests may be submitted through the Reef Warden contact form. The general Terms of Service also apply.
